Culture Trip to Bali 2019

On 17 March 2019 SMAN 3 Bandung class of 2020 had a culture tour to Bali. A culture tour is a field trip that gives the students more knowledge about Indonesian Culture in hope that the students will cherish it.
My class (XI MIPA 1) had the first flight of the day which is at 10 AM. We boarded our plane and took off. We arrived in Bali at about 1 PM and got to our bus. The class of 2020 was separated into 3 sessions, the first one was my class (XI MIPA 1), XI MIPA 2, and another class. The second session consisted of another 3 classes and the last session was also 3 classes.
I am glad to be in the first session because that meant that we got the chance to go to Tanah Lot first. After seeing Tanah Lot, we got on our way to Jimbaran and ate seafood. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t good and it started to rain, so most of our clothes were soaked.

For the second day of culture trip, we went to Pandawa Beach which was beautiful. After spending a few hours at Pandawa beach, we head to Tanjung Benoa to do some water sports like banana boat, donut, and etcetera. Then, we went to Pujamandala. Pujamandala is a place where there stands a Masjid, a Church, a Pure. Pujamandala shows how Indonesia is full of differences but Indonesia is still one: Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. The last itinerary of the second day is GWK. I saw the statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana which was huge. We took a few pictures and head back to our hotel.

Day 3 was eventful. The first thing on our itinerary was Pure Tirta Empul. It was beautiful and full of culture. I saw a few people pray and do other things like bathing because people believe that the water at Tirta Empul is holy. After Tirta Empul, we went to Panglipuran village. It was supposed to be a fun trip through the village but it rained heavily briefly after we got there, I and some of my friends went to one of the villager's houses. I was waiting for the rain to stop when I saw the villager who owns the house making something, turns out she was making a kind of rice cake as a ritual offering for the full moon ritual the day after. So I talked to her and gained a little knowledge about the tradition there. The rain finally drained and we went back to our hotel. The night of day 3 was our “Makrab.” I had a lot of fun.

Day 4:
It was our last day at Bali. The teachers gave us some free time to explore Kute. Me and 2 of my friends went to Mcdonald's to eat breakfast. We spent an hour at Mcdonald and head to Beachwalk. I went to Candylicious and bought a pack of chocolate. We ate lunch at RM Grafita. The last thing we did before leaving Bali was visited Bedugul. Bedugul is a beautiful area where a Pure stood in the middle of the beach. The weather at Bedugul was very windy but still enjoyable. For dinner, we ate at RM Singaraja and after dinner, we head to Gilimanuk pier. From Gilimanuk pier, we went to the Katapang pier and Djuanda Station, finally, we arrived at Bandung.
